Make it yours
Scheduled theme, colours, font, chat look, photo frame, page blocks and menu order.
You can tailor MRIYU to your taste. Nothing is required: until you change something, the site looks as usual. Your choices are saved to your profile and work on every device — phone, browser and the desktop app.
Where to find it
Open Settings → Appearance. To undo everything, click Reset to default next to the Look heading.
Look
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Preview | At the top of the section, a post and messages show right away how the site will look with the chosen theme, colour and font. |
| Theme | Light, Dark, System or On schedule — dark turns on by itself at the hours you pick (22:00 to 07:00 by default). |
| Palette | Sepia is a warm light palette, OLED black is true black for the dark theme, High contrast gives crisp text and lines. |
| Accent colour | The colour of buttons and links: eight presets or Custom colour — anything from the colour picker. |
| Site background | One of the presets or Own image — in every section. |
| My page background | A separate background just for your page; Same as site uses the usual one. The Show my background to visitors checkbox — anyone who opens your page sees it on your background. |
| Block transparency | A slider from 30 to 100 %: blocks turn see-through and the background shows through (slightly blurred so text stays readable). |
| Block colour | Theme default, a light or dark preset or your own colour. Text in the blocks turns light on dark colours and dark on light ones. |
| Font | Standard, system, serif, or large and clear (Verdana). |
| Density | Compact, Normal or Spacious — less or more spacing. |
| Liquid Glass | Liquid glass, like in iOS 26: the header, menus, panels and windows turn transparent, with blur and highlights. Remembered on this device. |
In the desktop app this section also has Interface scale.

- My message colour — standard, accent or muted.
- Text size — from small to extra large.

My page
Photo frame — a frame around your photo that every visitor of your page sees:
| Frame | Available |
|---|---|
| No frame, blue and yellow | everyone |
| Bronze | from 100% rating |
| Silver | from 200% |
| Gold | from 300% |
| Platinum | from 500% |
| Diamond | from 1000% |
| Legendary | from 2000% |
| Pulse (animated) | from 200% |
| Rainbow (animated) | from 300% |
| Neon (animated) | from 500% |
| Aurora (animated) | from 1000% |
GIF avatar. From 300% rating your profile photo can be animated: pick a GIF file — it is set as is, without cropping, and moves everywhere your photo appears.
If you don't pick a frame, nothing changes: from 300% your photo gets a frame in your level's colour.
How others see it — the View my page as a visitor button opens your page the way a stranger (not a friend) sees it: with your frame, blocks and privacy settings applied. To go back, click Exit preview on the bar at the top.
Page blocks — reorder Photos, Gifts, Friends and Subscriptions with the arrows, and hide a block with the eye button. On a computer, photos sit in the middle of the page — you can hide them, and the other blocks swap places in the left column.
Navigation
- Start page — what opens when you visit the site: your page, news, messages, friends and so on.
- Menu order — the gear next to the menu on the left → Menu items. Drag an item by the dots on the left or use the arrows; the circle shows or hides an item. You can hide everything except News. In the desktop app, use the Customize menu button below the sections. More in Settings and menu.
Desktop app
In the Windows app, Appearance also has a Desktop app block:
- Start with Windows;
- Start minimized to tray — after you turn on your computer, MRIYU waits quietly in the tray;
- Show or hide window — a keyboard shortcut such as Ctrl + Shift + M;
- Where notifications appear — which corner of the screen the cards pop up in.
