Durak Online

Rooms for 2–6 players with people from MRIYU: classic and transfer Durak.

Where to find it

Open "Games" in the menu and press the "Durak Online" tile. You play with anyone on MRIYU, not only friends. A game with one friend in a chat is described in Games in chats.

Lobby: tables

  • "Quick game" takes you to the first table with a free seat. If there is none, a new one is created: classic, 36 cards, up to 4 players.
  • "Create room" makes your own table with a name and rules.
  • The "All tables", "Classic" and "Transfer" filters show the tables you want.
  • Each table card shows the variant, the deck, who can add cards, who is seated and how many seats are free. "Take a seat" joins the table; "Watch" lets you look at a game in progress.

You can sit at only one table at a time: taking a seat elsewhere makes you leave the previous one.

Room rules

Setting Options
Variant Classic or Transfer
Deck 24 cards (from nines), 36 (from sixes) or 52 (from twos)
Players 2 to 6; up to 4 with the 24-card deck
Who can add cards Everyone or Neighbours (the attacker and the player to the defender's left)

When every seat is taken, the deal starts by itself. The host can start earlier with "Start game" — at least two players are needed.

How to play

  • The player with the lowest trump goes first. The trump lies under the deck.
  • The attacker plays any card. The others (or only the neighbours) add cards of ranks already on the table. An attack can have no more than six cards and no more than the defender had.
  • The defender beats each card with a higher card of the same suit or a trump. In Transfer, while nothing has been beaten yet, you can play a card of the same rank — a "Pass on" button appears and the next player has to defend.
  • Can't defend? Press the big round "I'll take" button. The others may still add cards.
  • When everything is beaten, the attacker presses "Done" and the others press "Pass". The round ends once nobody can add anything. If the defender is taking, the attacker presses "Take them".
  • After the round everyone draws up to six: the attacker first, then around the table, the defender last. A defender who beat everything attacks next; one who took skips a turn.
  • Once the deck is empty, players who run out of cards are out. The last one holding cards is the durak.

Time per move

You have 30 seconds per move and 12 to decide whether to add more. The time left shows on the ring around the avatar and on the round button. If a player runs out of time, the server moves for them: the lowest card is played to open, the defender takes, and a player adding cards passes.

Buttons above the table

The table always fits on the screen — no scrolling needed. Above it are these buttons:

Button What it does
Gifts 100 gifts in 10 sections: drinks, food, flowers, animals, emotions, fun, luxury, sport, nature, other
Music at the table the site's radio stations and "My music"; plays through the shared player and keeps going when you leave the table
Table chat the chat over the table; a red number means new messages
Table style deck, card back and table colour
Full screen the table fills the screen; press again to go back

Gifts

Press "Gifts" or an opponent's avatar, choose who it's for and pick a gift. Everyone at the table sees it: the gift pops up over the avatar, and a small badge with the latest gift stays next to it. You can give gifts to players at your table.

Table style

In "Table style" you can choose the deck — MRIYU, Classic (Vectorized Playing Cards, Chris Aguilar) or English (SVG-cards, David Bellot) — one of 11 card backs and the table colour: blue, green, maroon, purple or graphite. Your choice is saved in this browser and also applies to Durak in chats. The same options are in settings: "Appearance" → "Cards in games".

Chat and leaving

Open the chat with "Table chat"; only seated players can write. "Leave the table" frees your seat. Leaving in the middle of a game counts as a loss. After the game you see everyone's places, and the host can start a "New game".
