Group chats
Reactions, members and admins, invite links, mentions and files in groups.
Group chats can do everything a personal conversation can, plus member management.
Reactions and read status
Right-click a message (long-press on a phone): the top of the menu has a row of reactions, and "More reactions" opens the full set. Each person can add up to three reactions to a message; a fourth replaces the earliest one. Hover a reaction under a message to see who added it.
On your own messages, one tick means "Sent" and two ticks mean "Read" by at least one member.
Files, stickers and GIFs
The paperclip opens "Photo or video" and "Document". The send window lets you add a caption or choose "Send as file". You can also paste files from the clipboard. The smiley button opens the Emoji, Stickers and GIF tabs.
Members and admins
Open "Participants" from the chat menu or by clicking the chat name at the top. It shows roles ("owner", "admin"), who is online, and a search field. The chat header shows how many members are online.
- The owner can "Make admin" or "Remove admin rights".
- The owner and admins can "Remove from chat". An admin cannot remove another admin or the owner.
Invite link
In the Participants panel, admins see the "Invite link": create it, copy it, replace it with a new one or "Revoke" it. Whoever opens the link confirms joining and lands in the chat right away. A revoked link stops working.
Mentions
To mention someone, type @ and pick them from the suggestions. If you were mentioned in a message you haven't seen yet, a round "@" button with a counter appears above the scroll button and takes you to the next mention. In the chat list such a chat is marked "@".
Several messages
"Select messages" in the chat menu (or "Select" in a message menu) turns on selection. Tick messages to copy, forward or delete them together.
