Board

Kanban boards for to-dos and projects: lists, cards with images, due dates, labels and teamwork with friends.

Board gives you kanban boards right inside MRIYU. Sort your work into columns, tick off what's done and run projects together with friends. No separate account is needed — everything works with your MRIYU page.

Where to find it

  • On a computer — Board in the left menu, right after Market.
  • On a phone — the Menu tab → Board.

Boards

  1. Press Create board, enter a name and pick a color.
  2. A new board already has three lists: To do, In progress and Done. Add your own with Add list on the right.
  3. To rename a list, click its name. On a computer you can drag a list by its header (the row with its name) to a new place — a blue line shows where it will land. The list menu (three dots) has Move left, Move right (these work on a phone too) and Delete list.
  4. On a computer the board fills the whole window width, and lists stretch when there is room. If the lists don’t fit, a scrollbar appears under them — scroll the board sideways.
  • About the board (the ⓘ button in the board header) — the board description: what it’s for, rules, links. The owner writes and edits it, with the same formatting as in cards.

Cards

  • Add card at the bottom of a list — type what needs to be done and press Enter.
  • On a computer, drag cards with the mouse between lists and within a list. On a phone, open the card and choose another List.
  • A card has an Assignee (a board member), a Due date, colored Labels, a Description and comments. The circle next to the title marks the card as done.
  • Formatted description. Click the description or Edit. Select text and a toolbar appears, just like in messages: bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, monospace, spoiler, quote, link. The same actions work with Ctrl+B, Ctrl+I, Ctrl+U, Ctrl+K. When you’re done, press Done (or Ctrl+Enter).
  • Subtasks (checklist). Below the description there’s an Add a subtask field. In the description itself, the Checklist button turns a line into an item, and Enter in an item adds the next one. Tick items right in the card; the board shows a counter like “2/5” that turns green when everything is done.
  • Spaces and blank lines at the edges of the description are removed only when you close the card or press Done — nothing disappears while you type.
  • Share at the bottom of the card: copy the link or send it to a friend in a message. The link opens the board right on this card — but only for board members; others are told they don’t have access.
  • The title and description save themselves: the description a moment after you stop typing (you’ll see “Saving…” / “Saved”), the title when you leave the field. Closing the window with the cross, Esc or a click outside keeps what you typed too. Selecting text and releasing the mouse outside the window no longer closes it.
  • An overdue date is highlighted in red on the card.

Colors

  • Board — the owner picks the header color in Board settings.
  • List — the list menu (three dots) → List color: the column gets tinted with a colored strip on top.
  • Card — Card color in the card window: the card is tinted with a colored strip on the left.
  • Labels — ready-made colors or your own.
  • The owner sets label names in Board settings → Label names: e.g. red — “Critical”, gray — “Optional”. Named labels show their name on cards.
  • Filter at the top of the board: pick labels (cards with any of them) or My tasks — only matching cards stay on the board, with the number found next to it. Reset brings all cards back. While the filter is on, cards can’t be dragged.
  • Besides the ready-made colors there is always Custom colour (the rainbow circle) — any shade you like. No color removes a list or card color.

Images and videos

  • In a card, press Add photo or video and pick one or more files. You can also drag files into an open card window or straight onto a card on the board.
  • From the clipboard: press Ctrl+V in the card window or the Paste from clipboard button — handy for screenshots, including in the desktop app.
  • Up to 10 attachments per card: images up to 10 MB, videos up to 100 MB. Video thumbnails show a frame, ▶ and the length.
  • The first image becomes the card’s cover on the board. Click a thumbnail to open it full screen on top of the card (videos play there) — flip between images with the arrows, close with Esc or the cross. The cross on a thumbnail deletes the image.
  • Only board members can see the images and videos. They don’t appear in your Photos, albums or Videos.
  • The Collapse images switch at the top of the board hides the covers — cards become compact and show just an icon with the number of images. The switch is remembered for each board in this browser.

Together with friends

Open Board settings (the three dots or the avatars at the top of the board):

  • Invite — add a friend. You can only invite people who are your friends. The board owner and admins can invite.
  • Members create and move cards, comment and change lists.
  • Admins. The owner taps Make admin next to a member — they can then invite their own friends, remove regular members and delete comments. Tap again (the Admin button) to take the rights away.
  • Only the owner can rename the board, change its color, appoint admins, remove an admin or Delete board. A member can Leave board.

Real-time collaboration

  • Other members’ changes appear on the board by themselves within a few seconds — no need to reload the page.
  • A green dot on an avatar at the top of the board means that person is on the board right now; next to it you see how many people are here.
  • An avatar in the corner of a card means someone has that card open. Inside the card you can see who else has it open.
  • Notifications in the bottom right tell you what others did, and the changed card briefly lights up. Click a notification to open the card.
  • The Activity button at the top of the board shows recent changes: who did what, and when.
